Hunt Groups

Hunt groups/User Groups allow calls to be delivered to a group of employees that share a similar office function.  User groups can be created with custom delivery methods to ensure each call reaches the right group of people in the correct order.

A hunt group or "user group" is a list of employee phones that share a similar office function, department or service, such as Sales or Support.  When a call is made to a group, the caller is first placed on hold (with music) while MyOffice PBX begins to "hunt" for someone to answer the call in one of three ways,

inorder
In Order (sequential):
Calls are always delivered to the first extension listed, unless it is busy — then the second, third, and remaining lines are considered in succession.

zzroundrobin

Round-Robin (Circular hunting):
If a call is delivered to line 1, the next call goes to 2, and the next to 3 and so on. The succession throughout each of the extension continues even if one of the previous lines becomes free. When the end of the hunt group is reached, the hunting starts over at the first line. Lines are only skipped if they are still busy on a previous call.

zzzringall

Ring-All (broadcast):
Simultaneously rings each non-busy telephone in the hunt group.

MyOffice PBX will work with most broadband internet services (Cable, DSL, T1, WiFi etc...).

In order to ensure the highest level of voice quality, we recommend that an additional 90 Kbps of internet bandwidth (per active call) be allocated above your current data consumption.

Here is an online broadband speed test to assist you in determining your actual data speeds.

In case of an internet/power outage at your business locations, you will lose VoIP phone connectivity to the MyOffice PBX servers.

However, unlike a traditional PBX, the service is hosted in the cloud. By setting up fail over actions for Auto Attendants, and groups you can make sure that calls will be delivered. You also have the options to setup Find-Me/Follow-Me or Call Forwarding for each user extension.

For assistance on setting up fail-over options contact us.
